GAMESPOT RELEASES NEW TOMB RAIDER LEGACY OF ATLANTIS GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE

GameSpot has showcased new footage featuring Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the original Tomb Raider released in 1996. The footage was previously shown behind closed doors during Gamescom, where access was limited to attendees at the presentation. It has now been released publicly, allowing a wider audience to view the material for the first time.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis builds upon the events of the original Tomb Raider, expanding the narrative with new story material designed to connect Lara Croft's earliest adventure with later stages of her life. The journey takes players across Peru, Greece, Egypt and a Mediterranean island as Lara attempts to recover the scattered pieces of the Scion, a powerful ancient artefact. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game also introduces modernised gameplay systems while retaining the foundations of the original adventure.

Development is being led by Flying Wild Hog in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, with Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis scheduled to launch on 12 February 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The game will be offered in Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s editions, with both the Deluxe and Collector’s editions providing 48 hours of early access ahead of the general release.
