EVERCADE NEXUS RELEASED WITH SUPPORT FOR TOMB RAIDER COLLECTIONS
[ 1 November 2026 ]
The Evercade Nexus handheld gaming console has been released, introducing updated hardware features and support for the existing Evercade cartridge catalogue, including Tomb Raider Collection 1 and Tomb Raider Collection 2.
The handheld features a 5.89-inch IPS display, dual analogue sticks, wireless headphone connectivity and a redesigned menu system. It is the largest handheld console in the Evercade range and is designed to accommodate games from the 32-bit and 64-bit eras.
The inclusion of dual analogue sticks provides additional control options, while a textured rear grip has been incorporated into the console's design. Audio features include front-facing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and wireless headphone support.
Evercade Nexus also introduces EverSync, customisable RGB lighting for the console's logo and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity for system updates. The handheld retains TATE mode, allowing compatible arcade games to be played in a vertical screen orientation, alongside additional button configurations and turbo-fire functionality.
The Evercade Nexus supports the existing Evercade cartridge library, which includes two Tomb Raider collections featuring five games from the original series.
Tomb Raider Collection 1 contains Tomb Raider (1996), Tomb Raider II Starring Lara Croft (1997) and Tomb Raider III Adventures of Lara Croft (1998). The collection covers Lara Croft's initial expedition in search of an ancient artefact, her subsequent search for the Dagger of Xian and her travels across several locations, including India, the South Pacific, Nevada, London and Antarctica.
Tomb Raider Collection 2 includes Tomb Raider The Last Revelation (1999) and Tomb Raider Chronicles (2000). The Last Revelation follows Lara Croft through locations in Egypt as she attempts to prevent the resurrection of the Egyptian deity Set. The Evercade edition also includes a new version of a bonus level previously distributed for personal computers. Tomb Raider Chronicles presents several episodes from Lara Croft's earlier expeditions, recounted by three individuals who gather to commemorate her life and career.
Both collections use Evercade's cartridge format and are compatible with the Nexus handheld. The release of Evercade Nexus provides another hardware option for playing the five original Tomb Raider titles included across the two collections, alongside other games available in the Evercade catalogue.
