BAFTA CELEBRATES TWO DECADES OF GAME MUSIC WITH NATIONAL CONCERT TOUR

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced that BAFTA Games in Concert, originally revealed in September as a one-night event in London, will now expand into a nationwide tour. The live performance series celebrates two decades of BAFTA-nominated and award-winning video game music.

Conducted by the American composer Austin Wintory, the concert will open at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Saturday, 31 January 2026, before travelling to The Glasshouse, Gateshead, and Bristol Beacon in May, followed by Usher Hall, Edinburgh; the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow; Symphony Hall, Birmingham; and Aviva Studios, Manchester, in June. Newly added titles to the programme, supplementing those announced in September, include Helldivers 2, Far Cry 4 and Fallout 4.

The programme will feature Tomb Raider Legend, composed by Troels Brun Folmann and performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra under Wintory's direction. Folmann's score for Tomb Raider Legend has long been recognised within gaming and soundtrack circles, yet it has seldom been presented in an orchestral concert setting. Its inclusion in BAFTA Games in Concert will afford audiences the opportunity to experience its themes, instrumentation and textures in a live environment, where subtleties often obscured during gameplay may be more clearly appreciated.

The BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Wintory, will perform music from Tomb Raider Legend alongside other acclaimed game scores, including Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Baldur's Gate 3, Hitman: Contracts, Assassin's Creed, Cuphead, Journey, Helldivers 2, Far Cry 4 and Fallout 4.
