TOMB RAIDER SOCIAL UPDATED TO MASTODON VERSION 4.7.0, INTERNAL REWORK
[ 25 August 2026 ]
Tomb Raider Social has been updated to Mastodon version 4.7.0. This version introduces very few user-facing changes but substantially reworks Mastodon's internals to increase security, support new protocols, and pave the way for new features ahead of the release of Mastodon 5.0.
The latest update brings security, federation, administration and performance improvements. Key additions include support for remote accounts changing handles, expanded ActivityPub functionality, new signature verification features, encrypted storage of local users' private keys and additional administrative tools.
The release also fixes issues affecting timelines, embedded videos, notifications, scheduled posts and follow requests, alongside a range of performance and reliability improvements. Several legacy features have also been removed, including support for pre-Mastodon 4.3.0 cookies and the deprecated bin/update script.
Tomb Raider Social is a decentralised, open-source social networking platform powered by Mastodon. It provides a space for Tomb Raider content creators, fans and community members to connect, share content and discuss the series. Users interact through chronological timelines rather than algorithmically curated feeds, and the platform does not display advertising.
