CRYSTAL DYNAMICS UNVEILS CHINESE INK-WASH-STYLE TOMB RAIDER ARTWORK
[ 22 October 2026 ]
Crystal Dynamics has released a new piece of Tomb Raider artwork ahead of the franchise's 30th anniversary. The illustration is rendered in a style associated with traditional Chinese ink-wash painting and depicts adventurer Lara Croft crouching on a rock in a mist-covered jungle. Croft holds her trademark pistols and looks over her shoulder into the jungle. The artist has not been identified.
The artwork coincides with the anniversary of the original Tomb Raider, developed by Derby-based Core Design and first released in the United Kingdom on 24 October 1996.
Crystal Dynamics is marking the anniversary throughout 2026 with a programme of artwork, merchandise and collaborations involving companies across the gaming, clothing, accessories and collectibles industries. Announced products include collectible figures, gaming peripherals, clothing and display items.
The programme also includes an exhibition organised by Derby Museums featuring original development materials and memorabilia associated with Core Design and the history of Tomb Raider.
