PLATIGE IMAGE SCORES GOLDEN BADGE FOLLOWING TOMB RAIDER CATALYST TRAILER
[ 11 February 2026 ]
Platige Image, the Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning studio behind the recent cinematics for Tomb Raider Catalyst and The Witcher 4, has been elevated to Golden Badge status within Epic Games' Unreal Engine Authorized Service Partner programme. The recognition marks the fourth consecutive year of collaboration between the two companies, but represents the first time Platige has achieved the programme's highest tier, having previously operated as a Silver Partner.
The upgraded status follows a year in which Platige delivered several major Unreal Engine-based productions, including the Tomb Raider Catalyst trailer and The Witcher 4 Cinematic Reveal Trailer, alongside projects such as The Alters Launch Trailer and The Lords of the Fallen showcase at The Game Awards 2025. The studio also applied Unreal Engine technology across commercial, virtual production and broadcast work, including Aston Martin Never Leave Quietly, the Lil Ruby short film and Polsat Sport Studio.
According to Chief Executive Officer Karol Zbikowski, the studio has developed a scalable infrastructure designed to integrate seamlessly with clients' Unreal Engine environments, enabling support across projects ranging from technical assistance to complex AAA in-game cinematics. The Golden Badge distinction reflects not only production output but also the close operational relationship between Platige and Epic Games in supporting Unreal Engine clients and advancing real-time workflows.
As part of its expanded role within the programme, Platige has also launched a dedicated series of Unreal Engine tutorials on YouTube, aimed at both emerging and experienced creators. Head of Development Przemyslaw Patyk stated that the initiative is intended to share the studio's day-to-day expertise and proven production solutions, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the continued growth of the Unreal Engine ecosystem.
Crystal Dynamics is preparing to take Lara Croft to Northern India in Tomb Raider Catalyst, the next mainline instalment in the long-running franchise. The narrative centres on a mythical cataclysm that has unearthed ancient secrets and reawakened dormant guardian forces, setting the stage for a new adventure across the region's diverse landscapes. Built in Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider Catalyst is scheduled for release in 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
