TOMB RAIDER CHRONICLES MARKS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
[ 17 November 2025 ]
Today marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the release of Tomb Raider Chronicles for the Sony PlayStation. The fifth instalment in the Tomb Raider series, developed by the British studio Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive, was first released in the United Kingdom on 17 November 2000.
In Tomb Raider Chronicles, Lara Croft remains missing in Egypt, and no information regarding her fate has emerged. Believing that she may have perished, her closest associates gather to hold a memorial service and to recount several of her lesser-known expeditions. The title presents additional detail concerning earlier episodes in Lara Croft's career and introduces new equipment, including a grappling-hook device and a sniper rifle. The game also includes the official Tomb Raider Level Editor for those who wish to construct their own scenarios.
To commemorate the occasion, a range of materials illustrating Tomb Raider Chronicles is available, supplemented by items originally released during Tomb Raider 25, the celebration marking twenty-five years of Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series.
