TOMB RAIDER GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION ADDED TO GOG PRESERVATION PROGRAMME
[ 28 October 2025 ]
GOG has announced that Tomb Raider: Game of the Year Edition has been added to the GOG Preservation Programme. The programme is dedicated to ensuring that classic video games remain fully playable on modern systems, even after official developer support has ceased. It enables players to preserve and revisit formative titles, offering DRM-free access and dedicated technical assistance.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider presents the intense and unflinching origin story of Lara Croft, charting her transformation from an untested young woman into a determined survivor. Guided by instinct and driven by resilience, Lara must uncover the dark history of a lost island in order to escape its relentless grasp.
Tomb Raider is the first instalment in the Tomb Raider: Survivor Trilogy, which follows Lara Croft's evolution through three defining adventures. The journey begins on the mysterious island of Yamatai, off the coast of Japan, continues across the frozen Siberian tundra in Rise of the Tomb Raider, where an ancient secret lies buried, and culminates in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, set amidst the mountainous landscapes of Peru, where Lara confronts a power capable of triggering global catastrophe.
