Conceptual artist Jake Lunt Davies has released new storyboards from the cancelled Tomb Raider motion picture sequel under British filmmaker Ben Wheatley. "To recap, Lara has just opened a hidden door to reveal some kind of cave temple. Let's see what she will find inside. Just watch where you put your feet Lara." Jake Lunt Davies posted on Twitter.
Misha Green, Executive Producer of supernatural series Lovecraft Country on HBO, replaced Ben Wheatley at the helm and was charged by MGM to write and direct the rebooted Tomb Raider motion picture sequel with Alicia Vikander onboard to reprise her role as Lara Croft.
MGM subsequently lost the film rights to the rebooted Tomb Raider motion picture sequel, based on the video-game series from Crystal Dynamics, sparking a bidding war for the IP. Academy Award-winning actress Alicia Vikander is no longer attached to the project and the rights to the motion picture have reverted back to Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics.
