INTERVIEW WITH TOMB RAIDER NARRATIVE DESIGNER
[ 7 December 2022 ]
Belinda Garcia, a Game Writer and Narrative Designer working at Crystal Dynamics on the future of Tomb Raider, has been interviewed by Forbes about her creative aspirations and gaming career. No new information on Tomb Raider was discussed but the interview does provides an insight into her video-game storytelling process.
"I hope my personal brand is one of empathy and inspiration." Belinda Garcia tells Forbes. "I always want to inspire more people to be creative. I know it's tough, I know it's not always a rewarding path, but to me... it makes life worth it. Sharing stories, being vulnerable to the world, creating close connections through art... it's all magical."
Since Crystal Dynamics announced they are developing a new Tomb Raider video-game powered by Unreal Engine 5 earlier this year the studio has continued to court leading industry talent to help build out the future of Lara Croft. One such hire was Belinda Garcia, who joined the studio as Game Writer and Narrative Designer in July.
