SOPHIE TURNER REVEALS EXTREME SECURITY SURROUNDING TOMB RAIDER SERIES

In an interview on The Julia Cunningham Show, Sophie Turner discussed her forthcoming portrayal of Lara Croft in Amazon MGM's live-action Tomb Raider series, describing the role as a rare opportunity to develop an iconic character over a long-form television format. She also spoke of her admiration for series creator and executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and highlighted the exceptionally strict security measures surrounding the production, which she said exceeded even those she encountered during her time on Game of Thrones.

Speaking about taking on the role of Lara Croft, Turner said: "I feel really lucky to have signed on to Tomb Raider, and to have the opportunity to play a character over a certain number of episodes. I love doing TV because you do get to develop over potentially years and years, so I feel really lucky to be able to have this opportunity, and let's hope that it does go on for years and years."

She also expressed her enthusiasm for working with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, adding: "I can't believe I get to work with her, let alone sit in the same room as her. I just want to hang out with her all day long."

Turner went on to describe the intense secrecy surrounding the project, noting: "It's crazier security than Game of Thrones. In order to access any scripts, there's a million logins, face recognition, it's intense. It's like raiding a tomb just getting to the scripts."

The live-action Tomb Raider series is executive produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Crystal Dynamics, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Films, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson through Story Kitchen, Michael Scheel, and Legendary Television. Tomb Raider is co-executive produced by Matt McInnis and Jan R. Martin as producer.
