Rumours
of a new Tomb Raider game named 'Downfall' - due
for release during Christmas 2011 - have hit many
video-game web sites. In the wake of a lull in
actual fact-based news, many journalists are suggesting
this is the next big Lara Croft game. It is not.
Downfall
was a non-Tomb Raider idea developed by Crystal
Dynamics some time ago. The title never made it
much further than conceptual stage. Crystal Dynamics
are indeed working on two Lara Croft-helmed adventures
at time of writing, those being Lara
Croft and the Guardian of Light and a continuation
of the Tomb Raider series.
