UPPER DECK AND CRYSTAL DYNAMICS PARTNER ON TOMB RAIDER TRADING CARDS
[ 29 October 2026 ]
Upper Deck Entertainment has announced plans to release Tomb Raider trading cards and games in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics to mark the franchise's 30th anniversary. The first trading card set is scheduled for release in spring 2027, with a commemorative 30th anniversary card available now through Upper Deck's e-Pack platform.
The first release under the licensing agreement will be Power Up Tomb Raider, a trading card collection based on Upper Deck's Power Up brand, which previously appeared in baseball and basketball sets during the mid-2000s. The brand has been revised to focus initially on video game properties, with different card technologies incorporated into the designs of rarer, lower-numbered parallels and inserts.
Power Up Tomb Raider will feature trading cards covering the franchise's history, from the original 1996 release to the forthcoming Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis. The base collection will represent three periods of the series, Classic, Legend and Survivor, with a separate card design for each era.
The collection will also include several limited-edition variants, including Legendary cards numbered to 25, Mythic cards numbered to 10 and one-of-one Ultra Rare cards. Additional inserts will include Megawatt Masters, featuring die-cut cards depicting action from the Tomb Raider series, and Shock and Awe, a collection of 25 one-of-one metallic cards featuring Tomb Raider characters. Sketch cards will also be included.
Ahead of the collection's release, a commemorative Tomb Raider 30th anniversary promotional card is available through Upper Deck e-Pack. Priced at $6.99, the card features imagery representing the history of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft. It will remain available until 12 November 2026 at 5:59am PST (8:59am EST). The promotional cards will initially be issued digitally, with physical copies printed and made available for shipping at a later date.
Upper Deck also plans to release additional Tomb Raider trading card collections and games following the launch of Power Up Tomb Raider.
The collaboration forms part of Tomb Raider 30, a year-long anniversary programme organised by Crystal Dynamics alongside partners in gaming, fashion, collectibles, publishing and fine art. The programme covers products and releases marking 30 years since the original Tomb Raider launched in 1996.
