LARA CROFT VOICE ACTORS DISCUSS LIVE-ACTION TOMB RAIDER SERIES

Former Lara Croft voice actors Jonell Elliott and Judith Gibbins have commented on Amazon Prime Video's forthcoming Tomb Raider television series, starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. Speaking to Radio Times during the Tomb Raider 30th anniversary event, both performers discussed their expectations for the adaptation, which is being developed by Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Elliott, who voiced Lara Croft in Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider Chronicles and Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness, welcomed Turner's casting and referred to her performance in HBO's Game of Thrones. Elliott described Turner as "brilliantly cast" and said she was interested in seeing how the actress would portray Lara Croft.

Elliott also expressed hope that the television series would retain Lara Croft's established personality, particularly her acerbic wit and dry humour.

Judith Gibbins, who voiced Lara Croft in Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III, also commented on the forthcoming adaptation. Gibbins said she had not heard much of Turner's work and indicated that she would wait until she had watched the series before commenting further, while expressing confidence in the production.

Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics announced the development of the live-action Tomb Raider television series in May 2024. Principal photography began in January 2026. Sophie Turner stars as Lara Croft, a British archaeologist and adventurer. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson. The series is based on the Tomb Raider video game franchise.
