ALIX WILTON REGAN ON BRINGING TOGETHER DIFFERENT ERAS OF LARA CROFT

According to an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Alix Wilton Regan said her approach to Lara Croft is not about separating her portrayal from previous interpretations, but about unifying them. Describing her philosophy as "No Laras left behind", she explained that she wants her performance to be "an amalgamation of everything that's come before", retaining the confidence, sass and characteristics associated with Lara while moving the character into a new phase of her life.

Discussing Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, Regan said the game's aim is "to bring the character of Lara Croft up to speed with all of the history of the Survivor Trilogy, bringing Lara up to where she is in her life for this debut adventure". She described the project as a new experience rather than a remake or remaster, stating that it will take players on "a very different emotional journey" that will lead into Tomb Raider Catalyst.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is being developed by Flying Wild Hog in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics. The game reimagines Lara Croft's first adventure with updated visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5. Players will explore a range of environments, overcome environmental obstacles, solve puzzles and traps, and engage in combat with hostile wildlife and other threats while searching for pieces of the Scion. It is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on 12 February 2027.
