CELEBRATING LARA CROFT AND THE LEGACY OF TOMB RAIDER I-VI REMASTERED

Today marks the anniversary of the release of Tomb Raider I-VI Remastered, issued in two instalments across 2024 and 2025, and the birthday of its principal protagonist, the British archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft. The remastered project revisits the first six entries in the series, presenting them for contemporary platforms while remaining faithful to the original releases.
Released in February 2024, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered brings together the first three titles in the series, incorporating all original expansions and secret levels. Players may transition seamlessly between the original visual presentation and the enhanced graphical mode, and may select either the classic control configuration or a modernised alternative. The edition also adds a dedicated photo mode, three-dimensional replacements for item sprites, and more than 200 trophies. The original source code and engine have been retained to ensure technical and structural fidelity to the initial releases.
Released in February 2025, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered comprises revised versions of Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider Chronicles, and Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness. The remaster introduces enhanced environmental detail, updated character models, and refined in-game artefacts, while preserving the narrative structure and tonal qualities of the original titles. As with the earlier instalment, players may alternate between modern and legacy graphical modes.
Born into the British aristocracy as the daughter of Lord Henshingly Croft, Lara Croft's early life appeared destined for privilege. A transformative experience in the Himalayas at the age of twenty-one, surviving a plane crash and relying solely on her own resourcefulness, set her on the path to becoming a legendary explorer. Rejecting the constraints of her upbringing, she dedicated herself to a life of exploration and discovery, later documenting her findings in acclaimed travel journals and archaeological accounts.
