EVERCADE PRESERVES ORIGINAL TOMB RAIDER VIDEO GAMES
[ 25 April 2025 ]
The five original Tomb Raider video games developed by Core Design are now available on Evercade devices in their original 32-bit console format. All titles are compatible with the Evercade EXP-R handheld, the VS-R home console, and the Bartop arcade-style variant.
The collection is distributed on physical cartridge, reflecting a traditional approach to video game distribution that has become increasingly rare in the digital age. Each title has been faithfully preserved, offering players the opportunity to experience Tomb Raider as it was originally intended on mid-1990s and early 2000s hardware.
Originally released between 1996 and 2000, the five games trace the early trajectory of Lara Croft as she became one of the most recognisable figures in video game history. These versions retain the original graphics, gameplay mechanics, and level designs, providing an authentic and historically significant representation of the series.
Tomb Raider Collection 1 and Tomb Raider Collection 2 stand as notable examples of efforts to preserve video game heritage, particularly from the fifth console generation. They mark a significant addition to the growing library of classic titles available on Evercade systems, and further reinforce Blaze Entertainment's commitment to retro gaming culture and tangible game ownership.
