TOMB RAIDER IV-VI REMASTERED PHYSICAL RELEASE HINTED

Aspyr Media's Brand Manager, Matthew Ray, shared insights into the development of Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered in a recent interview with Nintendo Everything. He confirmed that plans for these remasters were in motion early on, especially after the success of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. Many members of the original remaster team returned, alongside new talent, to refine the experience. Ray emphasised that fan feedback played a significant role in shaping the project, with features like Photo Mode making a return, alongside new additions such as the Flyby Camera Maker.

Addressing Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, which received a mixed reception upon release in 2003, Ray acknowledged its importance to the Tomb Raider legacy. The team made efforts to give it the recognition it deserves, even featuring its version of Lara Croft on the collection's key art. The remasters remain faithful to the originals, with no censorship or major content changes, though quality-of-life improvements, such as the ability to skip cutscenes and enhanced animations, have been implemented. Aspyr aimed to balance nostalgia with modern refinements while preserving the core experience.

While no DLC or future content updates are currently confirmed, Ray stated that Aspyr is open to community feedback regarding potential additions. He also hinted at a possible physical release, promising more details soon. As for the future, Aspyr remains interested in continuing their partnership with Crystal Dynamics, potentially working on more Tomb Raider remasters or other projects from the franchise.
