ASPYR DISCUSSES DEVELOPMENT OF TOMB RAIDER IV-VI REMASTERED
[ 22 December 2024 ]
Matthew Ray, Brand Manager for Aspyr Media, has spoken to Game Rant about a shift in tone between the earlier Tomb Raider games (Tomb Raider 1-3) and the later ones (Tomb Raider 4-6), and how this informed the development of Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. The second part of an interview with Aspyr Media's Brand Manager, Matthew Ray, has been published on the official Game Rant website.
"The most significant difference is the tone of these games," Matthew Ray tells Game Rant. "Tomb Raider 4-6 marks a shift into darker, more narrative-driven storytelling compared to the lighter, more adventurous tone of the first three. This required a unique approach to the remaster, emphasizing the atmospheric details of the environments and enhancing elements like lighting and shadows to immerse players in the story's darker themes."
The Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection is set to launch in February 2025, offering revamped visuals that enhance the environments, characters, and artefacts, along with the ability to switch seamlessly between classic and modern graphics. This remastered edition of the classic Tomb Raider series, originally developed by the British studio Core Design, will also introduce a range of gameplay improvements.
