EVERCADE EXP-R MOVED TO NOVEMBER 2024 RELEASE DATE
[ 16 August 2024 ]
Blaze Entertainment has announced that the release of the Evercade EXP-R retro handheld gaming console has been delayed until November of 2024 following an issue with the production run. Tomb Raider Collection 1 is still scheduled to release on 30th of August, 2024, and the release of the Evercade VS-R gaming console has not been impacted.
"With every hardware release, we carry out a pre-production run before moving to mass production, and after extensive testing, no issues were identified at that stage. However, during the final checks on several thousand units, an intermittent problem was found in 20% of the stock. At this point, we decided to halt production and investigate the issue."
"Over the past two weeks, we have been working diligently to diagnose and resolve the issue. We believe that a faulty component is the cause and, unfortunately, this means that until we are confident the issue is resolved and thorough testing has been conducted, we’re being safe and realistic with our new planned release date target. "
"We sincerely apologise for bringing you this bad news at such a late stage, but we needed to ensure that a quick fix was not possible. This delay will also affect the Evercade TATE Grip which is scheduled to ship at the same time as the Evercade EXP-R."
Tomb Raider Collection 1 for the Evercade ecosystem includes the first three Lara Croft-helmed video-games developed by Core Design comprising Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III. The classic Tomb Raider series includes the original 32-bit video-games and makes use of the original control schemes as they were when released.
