CRYSTAL DYNAMICS TO RESIDE UNDER MIDDLE-EARTH

Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics will reside under Middle-earth Enterprises and Friends under plans announced by Embracer Group to transform into three standalone publicly listed entities. The studio is developing a new multi-platform Tomb Raider title powered by Unreal Engine 5, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally.

The corporate reshuffle announced by Embracer Group will see Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain and Friends and Middle-earth Enterprises and Friends become "separate, publicly listed companies, enabling each entity to better focus on their respective core strategies and offer more differentiated and distinct equity stories for existing and new shareholders."

Lars Wingefors, co-founder and Group CEO of Embracer Group, cited Tomb Raider as a notable franchise for the group and said the announcement has been made "with the intention to unleash the full potential of each team and provide them with their own leadership and strategic direction."
