TOMB RAIDER COLLECTIBLE CARD GAME RETROSPECTIVE
[ 12 March 2024 ]
Lara Croft and Tomb Raider has a long and storied history with collectible card games and our retrospective begins with an original. The Tomb Raider Collectible Card Game was produced by Precedence Entertainment, a publisher of collectible card games and role-playing games, and debuted in 1999. The Premier set released with 213 cards followed by two expansions; Slippery When Wet with 216 cards and Big Guns with 226 cards.
We've gathered up over 500 cards from all three sets courtesy of Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics and published them on our website. Each card contains artwork from the Tomb Raider series plus descriptive game-related text.
The Tomb Raider Collectible Card Game was joined by another short-lived digital counterpart in December of 2013 with the release of Lara Croft Reflections. Produced by Japan (Smile Lab) and RenRen Games, Lara Croft Reflections was set in the Lara Croft universe outside of the main Tomb Raider timeline. The game is no longer available however more than 800 pieces of artwork showcasing Lara Croft Reflections can be found on our website.
Lara Croft arrived in Magic: The Gathering in November of 2023 as part of a Tomb Raider crossover promotion. Seven cards featuring scenes from the Tomb Raider series and Lara Croft herself were made available as part of the Secret Lair sub-brand of Magic: The Gathering. Assets from the Tomb Raider and Magic: The Gathering crossover promotion can be found here.
