STUDIO SAYS TOMB RAIDER DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES
[ 25 May 2023 ]
Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed business continues as usual following yesterday's announcement from parent company Embracer Group that a two billion dollar deal for a transformative partnership had fallen through. Embracer Group saw their share price tumble as a result.
"Yesterday's Embracer news has no impact on the next Tomb Raider game which is in active development at Crystal Dynamics and in collaboration with Amazon Games who will also publish it. Thank you to everyone who was checking in on us! We appreciate you!" Crystal Dynamics said in a statement.
Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are currently under the aegis of U.S. studio Crystal Dynamics who are developing a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally. The as-yet-untitled new Tomb Raider game is a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft's story in the Tomb Raider series.
