HOW AMAZON GAMES AIDS EXTERNAL GAME PUBLISHERS

Amazon Games has published a blog on how the online Goliath supports its external publishing partners and has cited Crystal Dynamics and their upcoming Tomb Raider video-game, powered by Unreal Engine 5.

"There's much that goes into the publishing side of games that may not be so obvious at first glance. We're proud of the success we saw after publishing Lost Ark and we also learned a lot throughout that process, so we wanted to share more insight about some of the key areas in which we contribute to these publishing partnerships." Amazon posted on their blog.

Amazon Games assists external publishing partners in areas such as translation and localisation, collaborating on unique and regionally relevant content, determining regionally friendly monetisation models, cloud infrastructure and expertise and marketing, communications and community.

"Amazon Games has a lot going on, with two launched, live games and seven other upcoming titles, including internally developed games at our studios in San Diego and Montreal. We're invested in ensuring each and every one puts its best foot forward, and we couldn't be more excited to work with so many world-class studios, both internal and external, to deliver high-quality games to players all over the world."

Embracer Group and Amazon Games have an agreement under which Crystal Dynamics will develop a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title powered by Unreal Engine 5, with Amazon Games providing full support and publishing the game globally. The as-yet-untitled new Tomb Raider game is a single-player, narrative-driven adventure that continues Lara Croft's story in the Tomb Raider series.
