[ 8 October 2022 ]
Square Enix Montreal has re-branded as Studio Onoma following completion of the acquisition by Embracer Group. The studio previously developed the GO series of mobile video-games including Lara Croft GO, Hitman GO, Deux EX GO and Hitman Sniper: The Shadows.
"Our name and look might have changed but we are still us: a studio that empowers creativity and innovation and always puts people before products. (Just in a new and improved version!)" the studio said on their official web site.
Embracer Group recently announced the completion of the acquisition of development studios Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montreal, Square Enix Montreal (now re-branded as Studio Onoma), and a catalog of IPs including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain and more than 50 back-catalog games from Square Enix.
