Another day, another round of takeover talks for publisher Eidos, this time with NBC Universal being touted as possible suitor. According to trade paper MCV, The Daily Mail is reporting that "Eidos parent SCi is involved in dual discussions with existing ten per cent shareholder Time Warner and a new suitor - NBC Universal."

MCV also reports that newly anointed Eidos CEO Phil Rogers is close to hatching a deal with either Time Warner or NBC Universal, the outcome of which could see a considerable investment in the Tomb Raider publisher.

Earlier this year, Phil Rogers announced a restructuring plan to help tip the firm back on an even keel, culling 14 titles in development. "We want to be a leaner and fitter company in terms of what we do and what we release. In these situations you have to be honest, both internally and externally, and that is why we cancelled 14 titles."
