DVD FILMS OFFERING ALTERNATIVE ENDINGS

Video and DVD rental giants Blockbuster has recently conducted a survey to query which motion pictures movie fans would most like to change the ending of, with the classic Casablanca notching up an overwhelming 59 per cent of the Blockbuster members vote.

Hot on the heels of Humphrey Bogart's celluloid masterpiece was Pay It Forward and City Of Angels, which chronicles the exploits of a couple torn apart after a road traffic accident that claims the life of Nicolas Cage. "The magic of DVD is using technology to enhance the film experience," says Joyce Woodward, senior vice president and general merchandising manager for Blockbuster. "Studios are always looking for ways to make movies more fun, and the extra features on DVDs are a good way to give home video an added punch."

Lara Croft Tomb Raider starring Oscar winning actress Angelina Jolie joins a growing number of motion pictures that offer their audience alternative beginnings. Upcoming movies to feature alternative endings include Jeepers Creepers, Training Day and the Michael Douglas classic Fatal Attraction. So what are the alternate endings to Joy Ride and Fatal Attraction? "We'll never tell," says Woodward. "But you're going to scream when she ..."
