U2 DOMINATE 44TH GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

Irish rock group U2 have received a leading eight Grammy nominations Friday, including record, album and song of the year. The veteran group's album All That You Can't Leave Behind was virtually assured multiple nominations since Beautiful Day won record and song of the year at last years ceremony.

The burgeoning soul-movement also got its due as Alicia Keys, Brian McKnight and Nelly Furtado wracked up a staggering number of nominations. Both U2 and Furtado melded their musical talents on this years Tomb Raider soundtrack labelled by Elektra Records. U2 recently completed a world tour performing their Lara Croft track Elevation entombed within a high-tech laser show that streamed live across the web.

The 44th annual Grammy Awards will be staged on Februrary 27th at Staples Centre in Los Angeles. CBS have acquired broadcast rights to the event.
