Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and Director-come-singer Billy Bob Thornton have decided to make each other Christmas presents this year instead of buying lavishly expensive gifts from designer boutiques, Variety Magazine reports today.

Speaking to AP Radio, Thornton said "We decided to give each other one thing apiece. And that's something that we'll make. If you knew anything about how little we know how to make, it's pretty hilarious. She's ruined a few things trying to make me something already. Like she tried to knit a scarf and she said it was a real disaster."

Thornton remained tight-tipped about his seasonal offering to his Oscar-winning wife, but said: "I think she'll like what I'm going to give her. I'm just making her a little thing. I mean it's very simple what I'm making her. It's not weird or particularly interesting, but to her, it will be.."

Thornton earned the best actor honour from the National Board of Review this year for his roles in The Man Who Wasn't There, Monster's Ball and Bandits. He has also released a new CD, Private Radio. Angelina Jolie is currently filming Mandalay's Beyond Borders with British actor Clive Owen before embarking on Paramount Pictures Tomb Raider sequel.
