Multi-platinum,
Grammy-nominated superstar Missy Elliott has teamed
up with BET and BET.com to spread the love...and
wealth...just in time for the holiday season.
Beginning
December 3, fans can log onto BET.com to enter
to win the chance to have Missy "take away" your
bills (up to $20,000). The contest ties into the
theme of Elliott's new single, "Take Away" featuring
Ginuwine and Goldmind/Elektra's newest star, Tweet,
which talks about taking away all material possessions
and focusing on love. "I know people are having
a hard time right now," said Missy, "so just wanted
to do my little part to help out." The contest
will close on January 7.
Missy
is enjoying one of her most successful years to
date, with her critically acclaimed Miss E...So
Addictive selling over a million copies in less
than 2 months, achieving the highest debut spot
of any female rapper and looking to top many critics'
Top 10 lists at the close of the year. Missy was
also eligible for 12 MTV Video Music Awards this
year, more than any other artist, and took home
2 moon men for her masterminded re-make of "Lady
Marmarlade." Add to that list, a nod from none
other than the Guinness Book Of World Records,
which is recognizing Missy's "Hot Boyz" as the
"Longest Time Spent At US Rap Number One Spot"
in its 2002 edition!
Missy
is currently appearing in a national television
campaign for Reebok. She is presenting Janet Jackson
with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2001
Billboard Awards in Las Vegas on 12/4 and will
close out the year with a rare live performance
at Z100's Jingle Ball in New York on December
13.
