Geri Halliwell has admitted that she really wants her new single, Calling, to get to No. 1 because she thinks it's the best song she's recorded. "I would absolutely love it if my song went to number one. I'd be ecstatic and full of joy," she told The Star newspaper, "I think it's the best thing I've ever done, but at the end of the day I can't control that."

Geri's desperation for a top spot slot follows the disappointing performance of her previous single, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, which, for the first time in her solo career, failed to reach the Top 5, despite being accompanied by a video which saw her clad in a skimpy, Lara Croft-style outfit.

This time round though, it looks like the former Spice Girl may have learnt a lesson about what the audience wants to see. "In one way, I suppose one could say it's quite provocative to show nothing and just be in a jumper," she said, referring to the huge woolly sweater she wears in the video to Calling. "Sometimes, less is more - to show no flesh. But I do have pants on under the jumper."

Calling is already in stores now and climbing the charts.
