Fred
Gallo has been promoted to president of feature
production management for Paramount Pictures Motion
Picture Group. Fred Gallo, an eight-year veteran
of the studio, was previously exec VP of feature
production management.
He will
continue to report to prexy of production Michelle
Manning and oversee the worldwide day-to-day aspects
of physical production for the studio. "For the
past eight years, Fred has demonstrated remarkable
talent and extraordinary dedication to Paramount
Pictures," said Manning. "It gives all of us here
great pleasure to know that Fred will remain a
member of our production team for years to come."
Gallo
has been involved with over 100 productions for
Paramount including such films as Titanic, Face/Off,
The Truman Show, The General's Daughter, Runaway
Bride, Wonder Boys, Mission: Impossible 2, What
Women Want, Save the Last Dance and Lara Croft:
Tomb Raider.
He is
currently overseeing production management on
Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky, starring Tom Cruise,
Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz. Pic will be released
Dec. 14.
Before
joining the studio, Gallo was exec producer of
Aspen Extreme, following a long-term post as VP
of worldwide production for Warner Bros. At WB,
he was involved in the production of more than
125 features.
Prior
to entering the studio system, Gallo produced
and worked as an assistant director on a number
of films, including Body Heat, Murder by Death,
Sleeper, Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex
and Bananas. He won the DGA award for his work
as an a.d. on Oscar winners The Godfather, Annie
Hall and Rocky.
