Billy
Bob Thornton says he's afraid of clowns as well
as antiques. He says his character in the new
film Bandits has some of his real-life phobias,
but he insists he and his wife Angelina Jolie
are not "weirdos", Ananova reports today.
Thornton
said about clowns: "It's like you don't really
know the guy that's lurking behind the face."
He also recently revealed he can't breathe when
he's near antique furniture. "I get creeped out
and I can't breathe and I can't eat around it,"
he said.
"But
it's only certain kinds of antique furniture.
It mostly ... has to do with France and England.
I've had friends tell me that maybe I was beaten
to death with an antique chair in a former life.
I don't know. I'm not really sure what that's
all about."
The Singer/Director
also confessed that recent terrorist activity
aimed at the U.S. has heightened his fear of flying.
"My fear of flying was actually greater before
[Sept. 11]. I've actually been getting over my
fear the last few years. Frankly, if we're [Angelina
Jolie) together on a plane, I never worry."
Tomb
Raider starlet Angelina Jolie agrees. "If anything
ever happens, we'll look each other in the eyes
and smile and hold hands and that'll be the deal."
The quirky
couple hit the headlines earlier this year after
revealing they both wear vials of each other's
blood around their necks. Thornton countered a
media rap by saying: "We have no dungeon. We don't
drink blood. I don't eat just orange food. There's
a lot of stuff that's just not true."
