Lara Croft Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie has published an online journal documenting her trip to Cambodia in her official role as goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

"The journal is an intimate portrait of one woman's experiences among relief workers and resettled refugees in Cambodia," says USA for UNHCR Executive Director Jeffrey Meer. "Ms. Jolie's sensitive portrayal of the work of UNHCR staff, along side those of other agencies, is heartfelt and frank. She clearly reached out and touched both the aid workers and their clients during her visit."

The 27-year old Oscar winner has made arduous field visits to refugee camps in Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cambodia and Pakistan to witness first-hand the deprivation that exists within the regions. Jolie recently donated $1m for displaced refugees fleeing Afghanistan in fear of U.S. reprisals over the September 11 terrorist atrocities.

The UN is hoping to raise £185 million to fund humanitarian efforts in and around Afghanistan as tensions mount over continued military strikes in reprisal for terrorist attacks on the U.S. The official journal of Angelina Jolie can be accessed at http://www.usaforunhcr.org under the heading "Angelina In Cambodia."
