Deliver the latest Eidos Interactive stock quotes live online from your Cold Fusion-powered website with this new freeware index ticker which taps into Yahoo’s rich pool of financial data and reports price changes and movements 24 hours a day.

Developed by Rob Bilson, CF_StockGrabber is a custom CFML tag that allows a user to pass a single stock, mutual fund, or index ticker symbol OR a comma delimited list of stock, mutual fund, or index ticker symbols for processing. The tag takes the symbols and queries Yahoo's quote.yahoo.com site using CFHttp. The results are returned to the user as variables for further processing. Because the tag makes use of CFHttp, the user never has to leave the site calling the tag.

In addition, those using CF 3.1 or CF3.0 with a scheduling program will find this tag extremely useful for gathering stock quote information on an automated basis. The uses of this tag are virtually unlimited and demonstrate the power of intelligent agents within the Cold Fusion framework.

One of Cold Fusion's coolest features is its ability to coexist with other technologies, including Java. Cold Fusion is an ideal way to populate Java applets with dynamically generated data, and a classic example of this would be to dynamically populate the Proscroll 2.3 java applet developed by Slava Pestov.
