Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and husband Billy Bob Thornton could be considering the adoption of an Afghan refugee child after the couple were spotted filing documents at the Los Angeles division of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Daily News reports today.

"I've always wanted to adopt," Jolie told U.S talk show host Larry King recently. "Some people have certain callings in life...and ever since I can remember...hearing about different kids that need homes...I've just always known that I would love [an adopted child] as much as I would love my own."

The 27-year old Oscar winner, recently appointed a United Nations ambassador, has made arduous field visits to refugee camps in Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cambodia and Pakistan to witness first-hand the deprivation that exists within the regions. Jolie recently donated $1m for displaced refugees fleeing Afghanistan in fear of U.S. reprisals over the September 11 terrorist atrocities..
