NINTENDO RELEASES TOMB RAIDER LEGACY OF ATLANTIS SCREENSHOTS FOR SWITCH 2
[ 9 September 2026 ]
Nintendo of America has released five new screenshots of Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis on the Switch 2. The images show British adventurer and archaeologist Lara Croft exploring environments, climbing statues and fighting raptors. The game is now available to pre-order through the Nintendo eShop.
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is a single-player action-adventure game based on the original Tomb Raider, which was released in 1996. It revisits Lara Croft's first adventure while expanding on events from the original game. The story follows Lara as she searches for the scattered pieces of an ancient artefact. Her journey takes her to locations including Peru, Greece and Egypt, as well as an island associated with Atlantis. The narrative also connects events from Lara's first expedition with later periods in her life.
Gameplay combines exploration, platforming, puzzle-solving and combat. Lara can climb, jump and swing across environments, while a grappling hook is included as part of the traversal system. Puzzles use environmental elements and mechanisms that players must interact with to progress. Combat includes Lara's dual pistols, alongside additional weapons that can be unlocked during the game.
The title is being developed by Flying Wild Hog in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics and will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on 12 February 2027. It will be available in Standard, Deluxe and Collector's Editions, with the Deluxe and Collector's Editions including 48 hours of early access.
