CHRIS MOONEYHAM REVEALS G.I. JOE AND TOMB RAIDER CROSSOVER COVERS

Skybound and Image Comics have revealed a series of variant covers by Chris Mooneyham for the forthcoming G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider miniseries. The five-issue crossover is being produced in collaboration with Hasbro and Crystal Dynamics.
Mooneyham will provide a variant cover for each issue of the series, with the artwork featuring Lara Croft alongside characters from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Each will be released as the Cover D 1:25 incentive variant. Mooneyham is also an artist on the current G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic series.
The crossover is written by Kyle Higgins, with art by Elena Casagrande, colours by Alex Guimaraes and lettering by Pat Brosseau. The story brings G.I. Joe and Lara Croft together in a limited series following Lara's earlier appearance in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero issue 330.
The story centres on an expedition to Cobra Island, where Lara works with Shipwreck and several G.I. Joe teams to recover an object that has been hidden on the island for decades. Destro and Baroness are also attempting to obtain it.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #1 is scheduled for release on 7 October 2026 in comic shops and through digital platforms. In addition to Mooneyham's variant, the first issue will have covers by Elena Casagrande and Alex Guimaraes, Stjepan Sejic, Leirix, Lorenzo Tammetta and Mike Spicer, as well as a blank sketch cover.
