TOMB RAIDER VOICE ACTOR ON DIFFERENTIATING LARA CROFT BETWEEN TWO GAMES

Alix Wilton Regan discussed portraying Lara Croft in both Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, a remake of the 1996 original game, and Tomb Raider Catalyst, the next mainline entry in the series, at IGN Live 2026. Speaking about the challenge of differentiating between the two versions of the character, Regan said the process involves closely analysing scripts, identifying which timeline each scene belongs to, and working with collaborators to maintain consistency.

She added the development teams are aiming to give Lara a distinct voice in each game while ensuring the performances remain appropriate to their respective stories. "You take your scripts, and you break them down as much as possible. Which timeline are we in here? And you ask your collaborators to help you to keep track of that. We're trying to do something different with the voice in each game, let's see if we do it right."

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the 1996 original, featuring updated visuals, revised gameplay systems, and new story content. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game follows Lara Croft's search for the Scion across locations including Peru, Greece, Egypt, and an island linked to Atlantis. It is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on 12 February 2027. Selected editions will include up to 48 hours of early access.
