NEW PHOTOS SHOW LIVE-ACTION TOMB RAIDER SERIES SHOOTING IN GIRONA, SPAIN

Amazon MGM's live-action Tomb Raider series has moved production to Catalonia, northeastern Spain, and new photos published by Diari de Girona show cast and crew filming scenes on the steps of Girona Cathedral. The images appear to show Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Sasha Luss, August Wittgenstein, and a stunt double for Sophie Turner during the shoot. Filming is expected to continue through June at several locations across the city, including the Old Town.

Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics announced in May 2024 that they were developing a live-action Tomb Raider series. Principal photography for the series began in January 2026. Sophie Turner plays the role of Lara Croft, a British archaeologist and adventurer, alongside Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, and Bill Paterson. The series is adapted from the Tomb Raider video game franchise.

The production is a joint effort between Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics. Executive producers include Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins for Wells Street Films, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson for Story Kitchen, and Michael Scheel for Legendary Television.
