TOMB RAIDER LIVE-ACTION SERIES SHIFTS PRODUCTION FROM ENGLAND TO SPAIN

Filming for Amazon MGM's live-action Tomb Raider series is moving to Almeria, a coastal city and province in south-eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea, according to a report by La Voz de Almeria, a local newspaper based in the region. Production in Surrey, England, and at Wrest Park, a historic country estate in Bedfordshire, has reportedly concluded.

British actress Sophie Turner leads a cast that includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson in the latest screen adaptation of the long-running Tomb Raider franchise. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins serving as executive producers alongside partners from Wells Street Films, Story Kitchen and Legendary Television.

The series was recently described by Sigourney Weaver as an adventure comedy and is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2027.
