EIDOS MONTREAL ANNOUNCES WORKFORCE CUTS AND STUDIO HEAD DEPARTURE
[ 30 March 2026 ]
Eidos Montreal, the developer behind Shadow of the Tomb Raider, has announced a reduction in its workforce affecting 124 employees, alongside the departure of Head of Studio, David Anfossi. The decision follows evolving project requirements and impacts both production and support teams, reflecting the studio's need to adapt and focus resources where it can be most effective.
The studio shared the news on LinkedIn, expressing profound gratitude to those affected and emphasising that the decision in no way reflects their talent, dedication, or performance. Supporting impacted employees with care and respect remains a priority, while ensuring continuity for remaining teams.
David Anfossi, who has led the studio for many years, will also be departing. Eidos Montreal acknowledged his significant contributions and wished him every success in his future endeavours. A transition plan is currently underway, with further updates to be provided as new leadership is confirmed.
