AMAZON MGM STUDIOS UNVEILS STAR-STUDDED CAST FOR LIVE-ACTION TOMB RAIDER
[ 6 January 2026 ]
Amazon MGM Studios has announced a raft of actors joining its forthcoming live-action Tomb Raider television series. Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie and Bill Paterson are among those set to appear alongside Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, forming an ensemble cast for the latest screen adaptation of the iconic video-game franchise.
Several actors have been confirmed in established, canonical roles from the Tomb Raider universe. Martin Bobb-Semple will portray Zip, Lara Croft's long-standing friend and trusted technical support. Jason Isaacs has been cast as Atlas DeMornay, Lara's uncle, while Bill Paterson will appear as Winston, the Croft family's long-serving butler.
In addition, a number of characters newly created for the television series have been revealed. Jack Bannon will play Gerry, Lara's personal pilot and self-styled snack collector, while John Heffernan takes on the role of David, an exhausted government official who becomes entangled in Lara's unconventional world. Celia Imrie is set to appear as Francine, the Head of Advancement at the British Museum, whose priorities revolve around fundraising and champagne receptions.
Paterson Joseph will portray Thomas Warner, a senior government official tasked with resolving a major crisis, and Sasha Luss has been cast as Sasha, a fierce and deeply competitive new adversary for Lara. Juliette Motamed will play Georgia, a meticulous and rule-abiding curator at the British Museum devoted to the proper preservation of history. Sigourney Weaver joins the cast as Evelyn Wallis, a mysterious and high-powered figure eager to exploit Lara Croft's talents, while August Wittgenstein will appear as Lukas, an illegal raider who shares a complex history with Lara.
"Tomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters," said co-showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge. "I am thrilled to have been able to bring some personal and fan favourites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams!"
"I've been a longtime fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara," said Sophie Turner, who will play the world-famous archaeologist and adventurer. "She has always felt for me, very emboldened in a male-dominated world. She's a fierce female role model!"
"Tomb Raider has always been defined by bold storytelling and unforgettable characters, and these new cast members bring incredible depth and gravitas to the series," said Peter Friedlander, head of Amazon MGM Studios. "With talents like Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs joining the ensemble, we're elevating this world in exciting new ways, and can't wait for our global Prime Video audience to experience this next chapter of Tomb Raider."
