SOPHIE TURNER PREPARES FOR LARA CROFT IN LIVE-ACTION TOMB RAIDER SERIES

Sophie Turner has told ScreenRant that she has been training for almost a year in preparation for her upcoming role as Lara Croft in Amazon MGM's live-action Tomb Raider series. Turner will join Hollywood icons Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs in the video game adaptation, with production scheduled to begin in January 2026.

"I can't say much, but my preparation began in February this year (2025). I've been training for a long time now, coming up on a year, and we're going to start shooting in January. I'm really excited, but I feel prepped, and I feel really lucky to have such a great relationship with Amazon, and I'm excited for the world to see what we do with Lara and Tomb Raider. I think it's going to be something special," Sophie Turner tells ScreenRant.

Plans for a live-action Tomb Raider series were announced by Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics in May 2024. The series will be executive produced by Crystal Dynamics, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions; Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson via Story Kitchen; alongside Michael Scheel and Legendary Television.
