JASON ISAACS REPORTEDLY JOINS AMAZON MGM'S LIVE-ACTION TOMB RAIDER SERIES

Jason Isaacs has reportedly joined the cast of Amazon MGM's live-action Tomb Raider series, according to an exclusive report by Deadline Hollywood. The star of Event Horizon, the Harry Potter film series, and The White Lotus will appear opposite English actress Sophie Turner and Hollywood legend Sigourney Weaver in an as-yet-undisclosed role.
Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics revealed plans to develop a live-action Tomb Raider series in May of 2024. The project will be executive produced by Crystal Dynamics, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions; Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson via Story Kitchen; alongside Michael Scheel and Legendary Television.
Since its inception by Core Design, the Tomb Raider franchise has expanded significantly, encompassing eleven mainline video games, numerous spin-offs, three major film adaptations starring Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, as well as comic books and a variety of promotional tie-ins.
