TOMB RAIDER REVEALS DRIVE RECORD VIEWERSHIP FOR THE GAME AWARDS 2025

The Game Awards 2025 experienced a significant surge in global viewership, driven in large part by high-profile announcements from leading developers. Reveals for Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, Tomb Raider Catalyst, Resident Evil Requiem, Star Wars Fate of the Old Republic, and Control Resonant helped attract more than 171 million global live streams of the full programme, representing an increase of 11 per cent year-on-year.

Social media engagement also rose markedly, with conversation on X increasing by 12 per cent compared with the previous year. Moreover, the event recorded approximately 23,000 co-streams across Twitch and YouTube, reflecting a substantial year-on-year growth of 50 per cent. These metrics were shared on The Game Awards' official X page.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, scheduled for release in 2026, is a reimagining of Tomb Raider, originally developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive in 1996, combining modern visual presentation and revised gameplay systems with the tone and structural framework of the original game. Tomb Raider Catalyst, the next mainline entry in the series, follows Lara Croft as she travels to Northern India in the aftermath of a catastrophic event that has awakened ancient forces.

Both upcoming Tomb Raider titles are being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and are scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
