[ 14 December 2025 ]
Trailer viewership for two forthcoming Tomb Raider titles has surpassed 2.5 million across three major video game YouTube channels, according to publicly available figures, signalling renewed interest and a return to form for the long-running franchise. The combined audience response suggests sustained attention for Lara Croft's next outings, as the series prepares to return with two major releases scheduled for 2026 and 2027 respectively.
The trailer for Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis has attracted approximately 1.74 million views to date. On IGN's YouTube channel alone, the video has recorded 1.3 million views, with a further 35,000 on GameSpot and 406,000 on the official Tomb Raider channel. By comparison, Tomb Raider Catalyst has accumulated just over 800,000 views across the same platforms. IGN accounts for 441,000 of these, while the trailer has been viewed 22,000 times on GameSpot and 340,000 on the official YouTube channel.
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, scheduled for release in 2026, revisits Lara Croft's first adventure, combining modern visuals and revised gameplay systems with the tone and structure of the original title. Development is being led by Crystal Dynamics, in partnership with Flying Wild Hog, both of which are owned by Embracer Group. Tomb Raider Catalyst, due to launch in 2027, follows Lara to northern India in the aftermath of a mythical cataclysm that has stirred ancient forces.
Both games are being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and are planned for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
