USPTO PENDING TRADEMARK APPLICATION FOR TOMB RAIDER AS FRANCHISE EXPANDS

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has registered a new trademark application for TOMB RAIDER, filed on 20 August 2025. The application pertains to 'entertainment services in the nature of a film series in the field of action, adventure, science fiction, and fantasy.' The submission is currently pending and was made through agents representing CDE ENTERTAINMENT LTD.
Trademarks are applied for in order to protect a company's intellectual property, ensuring that its brand, titles, and associated products or services are legally safeguarded against unauthorised use. In the case of TOMB RAIDER, registering a trademark allows the owners to control the use of the title across films, merchandise, and other entertainment-related ventures, thereby preserving the brand's commercial and cultural value.
