STORY KITCHEN DISCUSS TOMB RAIDER ADAPTATIONS ON PURPOSE MADE PODCAST

Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg of Story Kitchen, formerly known as dj2 Entertainment, have spoken on the Purpose Made Podcast about sourcing and adapting video game intellectual property for film and television at the highest level. During the conversation, they briefly mentioned Tomb Raider The Legend of Lara Croft and the forthcoming live-action Tomb Raider series as projects currently in development.

On evolving the Tomb Raider world, Mike Goldberg says: "So, on the Tomb Raider side, we executive produced the animated Tomb Raider with Netflix, and season one was released in October of 2024. Soon it will be announced when season two will be released, which we're all very excited about."

"And then, separately, we have live-action Tomb Raider with Amazon MGM Studios, starting with our live-action tent-pole series that the wonderful Phoebe Waller-Bridge is our writer and showrunner, best known for Killing Eve and Fleabag. It has been merging her vision and passion, as she played the [beep] out of the games when she was a kid, with Crystal Dynamics, with us, with Amazon, and with the fans."

"More will be revealed shortly, but it's been understanding, getting under the hood of who Lara Croft is, and who are her world of raiders, and working to tell those stories in a way that's unique and rewarding, but is also fresh. So it's not like you've already played this; this is something new and fun, with mystery and puzzles to bear."
