Crystal Dynamics announced in May 2024 that Lara Croft would appear in a new Tomb Raider live-action series on Amazon Prime Video, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge serving as both writer and executive producer. According to IMDb, the role of Lara Croft will be portrayed by Sophie Turner. Jenny Robins, Michael L. Goldberg, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Scheel, and Timothy I. Stevenson are also credited as executive producers.

Originally developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive in 1996, Tomb Raider introduced audiences to British adventurer Lara Croft, establishing a franchise that has since expanded to include eleven mainline video games, numerous spin-off titles, films starring Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, and an extensive range of merchandise.
